INCT Defense

The National Institute of Science and Technology in Chemical and Biological Defense (INCT-Defesa)

The Molecular Computational Chemistry (MOLECC) research group is responsible for maintaining and supporting the computational infrastructure of INCT Defesa (The National Institute of Science and Technology in Chemical and Biological Defense) in UFLA. Through its research and computational expertise, MOLECC contributes to the development, maintenance, and application of computational methods and resources supporting research activities within the institute.

The National Institute of Science and Technology in Chemical and Biological Defense (INCT-Defesa), funded by CNPq, FAPEMIG, and CAPES, constitutes a research network that integrates universities, research centers, defense institutions, and national and international partners, with the objective of developing technologies aimed at protecting society against chemical and biological threats.

The Institute operates in an integrated manner, encompassing everything from molecular modeling to experimental validation and technological application, promoting the conversion of scientific knowledge into solutions with a significant impact on national security, public health, agriculture, and environmental preservation.

By combining cutting-edge science, innovation, and international cooperation, the INCT-Defense contributes to strengthening Brazil's scientific and technological autonomy, as well as to the training of qualified human resources in strategic areas.
